Why We Started SIM2LIFE

Late night, Assetto Corsa, headset on, wheel kicking back through the FFB. You get the entry perfect and for half a second it feels real. Then you take the headset off and you’re in your bedroom.

That happened enough times that the question stopped being hypothetical. What if we actually did this?

None of us had a plan. We had thousands of hours of seat time in sim, a group chat that was way too active at 2 AM, and this nagging feeling that what we’d learned in simulation wasn’t fake. Oversteer correction, weight transfer, reading grip through the wheel. Those are real physics concepts. We’d been practising them obsessively, just on the wrong side of a screen.

So we started organising. That’s the honest version of where S2L is right now. We don’t have a car. We don’t have sponsors. We’re a few people who take sim drifting seriously and want to find out what happens when we try it for real.

Maybe the sim hours translate. Maybe they don’t. We genuinely don’t know yet, and that’s sort of the whole point. The plan is to find out and write about it here without pretending we’re further along than we are.

If that sounds interesting, stick around. If you think we’re idiots, that’s fair too. We’ll see.
